THAI MASSAGE INTENSIVE SERIES Instructor: Rachel Johnson CMT, ABT

August 31, September 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5, from 10am to 6pm, 40 credit hours: Thai massage is an ancient bodywork form which has been passed down in Thailand for over 3500 years. It combines aspects of yoga, deep stretching, reflexology, energy work and acupressure in a uniquely Thai blend of rhythmic movement. Thai massage typically begins in supine position, beginning at the feet and working upwards. Therapeutically, this balances energy from upper body and head and induces a state of deep relaxation. Work on the legs is beneficial for low back tension as the supine position supports the back during the massage. Building on skills and patterns of work established in supine position, we will explore three more body positions to allow the practitioner to choose the most effective and comfortable position for the client’s needs.  Prerequisite: Previous massage experience highly recommended!

Cost: $595.00
